Everybody would of course love a smooth dive trip, however what if the unexpected happens? In the PADI Rescue diver course, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills to prevent & handle situations. A challenging yet rewarding course, being a rescue diver makes you a more confidence diver as you know you can help! Helplessness will be a thing of the past!
Course Structure & What You’ll Learn
(Monday & Thursday)
- Diver Emergency & Identifying them
- Consideration before attempting in-water rescue
- Psychology of rescue
- Preparation for diver emergency
- Oxygen system, stuffs to take note of
- Self Rescue
- Recognizing diver stress & handling them
- Aquatic life injury and treatment
- Towing & Exiting water with tired/responsive/unresponsive diver
- Assistances to overexertion, uncontrolled descent, excessive buoyancy and more
- Signs and symptoms of thermal stress
- Search patterns and procedures for missing diver
- Exam
(Saturday 1330 or Thursday 1900)
- Self rescue skills
- Rescue without in-water
- Assisting a tired diver
- Assisting a panic diver
- Assisting distressed diver underwater
- Searching for missing diver
- Assisting unresponsive diver
- First aid and oxygen administration
- Review of skills learnt in pool session
- Be prepared for diver emergency scenarios
- Rescue scenarios, we’ll not reveal too much over here
What is required
Age 15 and above
PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or Qualifying certification from another organization
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR – Primary Care) certification & Basic First Aid (Secondary Care) certification within the past 24 months (or Emergency First Responder certification)
